Come and join us in beautiful inland Spain
Come join us for a week of art tuition, good company, great food and stunning scenery in the heart of unspoilt rural Andalusia.
Concentrating on oils but with a day exploring ceramics as well as an excursion to the beautiful, historic town of Castril with its panoramic views and water walk (& churches and bars obviously).
Although we’ll be concentrating on practical tutorials there will be plenty of time to explore the local area. Cuenca is at the foothills of the mountains and looking the other way you can see the peaks of the Sierra Nevada, so there’s plenty to see (guided walks will be available). It’s 20 minutes away from crystal clear lakes, 15 minutes away from our local town, Pozo Alcon.
The team
Sharon Auerbach-Sim – overall organizer and teacher of ceramics. She’s been a potter all her life but has recently received a degree from Guadix School of Art – Andalucía’s home of ceramics.
Robert Sim – chef for the week having been Chef de Patron at the successful Cleveland Corner in Staithes. He’ll also be leading the walking for the intrepid (or the casual strollers).

About Madeleine Agnew
Madeleine Agnew is an artist from the Holme Valley, in West Yorkshire. She specialises in figurative painting, with a growing collection featuring an intriguing array of portraits that blur the line between the familiar and the fantastical. Among the highlights are whimsical depictions of animals dressed in human attire, alongside stunning portrayals of women adorned with intricate floral and faunal embellishments. Each piece offers a unique exploration of beauty, nature, and the surreal, drawing the viewer into a world where the boundaries of reality are delightfully bent.
