Extra info about your Art Holiday

Maddie Agnew-  your tutor

Madeleine’s art incorporates traditional oil painting techniques with precision and skill.

Madeleine employs a technique known as “dark to light,” where she builds her compositions by layering lighter tones over darker base layers, creating depth, contrast, and a sense of illumination in her work.

Madeleine is eager to share these techniques and skills with you through her engaging painting workshops.

“Once you look beyond the subject matter and recognise that the painting process follows the same fundamental principles, you can apply these techniques across portraiture, landscapes, and still life.”

“In these workshops, I aim to create an opportunity to explore the “dark to light” technique across various disciplines. Whether you prefer minimal guidance or more in-depth support, I aim to be on hand to give you the best experience. But ultimately, this will be a space for experimentation and growth. My hope is that you leave with artworks you’re truly proud of, while also cherishing the immersive and enjoyable experience the week has to offer.”
